Here is yet another application of wearable technologies that can benefit society. The police department in Sudbury Ontario is using wearable technology to find vulnerable missing people.

Project Lifesaver is a software program that uses technology to find people who are prone to wandering, such as those with Alzheimer’s or autism. A task that seemed very difficult to accomplish can now be done in 30 minutes. The technology used in the wearable has proved to reduce search times to an average of 30 minutes.

The program does carry an annual fee of $240 for maintenance and operation costs but for peace of mind, this might be a very small price to pay.
