Have we truly thought of all the possibilities when it comes to wearables? What are we missing? Well, Sony is trying to answer that question by trying to create a wearable air conditioner. It been a hot summer but do we really need a wearable air conditioner? I think we do. This is applicable to many jobs that require workers to work in extreme heat conditions. Construction workers, Miltary members in uniform deployed to hot climate countries and of course, firefighters. Can this wearable be built into a first responder uniform? This might have the ability to change the performance of key individuals in a life or death situation. Sony is currently crowdsourcing funding for the Reon Rocket aka the wearable airconditioner. It will last 2 hours, cost $117 and be ready in 2020 in Japan. Perfect timing for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics!
