IBM’s Watson became an overnight celebrity on jeopardy.
Ever since then, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has taken off to new heights. However, there are some that think that perhaps IBM’s Watson was way ahead of its time and it was a solution without a problem. Sometimes if you build it, they may come just like the famous line from the movie field of dreams except for the opposite.
Some of the recently laid off engineers think that IBM Watson was a classic case of building a solution without a problem. Perhaps they may be bitter because of their situation or perhaps there is some truth to it.
