Scientists at Yokohama National University and the University of Tokyo in Japan are developing a new self-healing ion gel that could change electronic devices.

According to the publication, the ion gel that has been developed has the ability to self-heal at ambient temperature without any external trigger or detectable change in the environment. Because of the adaptability of the gel in the temperature and lighting environment, this could be the ideal material for building new electronic devices that could be flexible.

Samsung has been hinting at a new device that could be flexible.
