The consumer electronics show happens every January. This year there was a lot of wearable technology on display. A lot of OLED or LCOS microdisplays.  A couple of really interesting smart glasses comes from China. One is the NReal glass which weighs in at only 3 ounces. One of the factors that limit smart glasses is the look, feel and weight of the glasses. NReal is trying to solve just that with fashionable wearables. Your smart glasses do the processing which offloads the processing on the glasses. It basically wearing your smartphone on your glasses and adding mixed reality interaction.

Another interesting pair of smart glasses comes from a Hong Kong start-up company by the name of AM Glass. They have an additional RGB camera which makes the tracking a little better.

BrighterSight can’t wait to get our hands on these smart glasses to evaluate.
