According to Wikipedia, microLED is an emerging flat panel display technology. MicroLED displays consist of arrays of microscopic LEDs forming the individual pixel elements. When compared to the widespread LCD technology, mLED displays offer better contrast, response times, and energy efficiency.
This is exactly what Google wants to use in the creation of the next Google Glass. A recent Google patent reveals Google Glass is being reinvented using micro-LED displays. If they can pull this off, it will make the next pair of Google Glass look a lot more like a regular pair of glasses rather than an awkward cyborg looking pair of glasses.
