We have come a long way with digital data. It still feels like we invented solutions to problems we didn’t have and we are still trying to figure out what to do with technology that is collecting gigabytes of data from each of us. As the world becomes more and more digitized, artificial intelligence and big data companies are making sense of it all. A company by the name of BlueDot has developed an algorithm to track infectious diseases and predict outbreaks. With all that data, the company is working on helping stop outbreaks before they spread.

The BlueDot solution was developed by a doctor in Toronto. The solution looks at a variety of data sets from all over the world and applies algorithms that look for patterns that can alert the user on potential forward looking issues. The data analytics is used to build solutions that track, contextualize, and anticipate infectious disease risks.

There is definitely a lot of potential and this is evident in the company’s recent 7M USD series a financing.
