Blueforce tracking indoor and outdoor would be hugely beneficial to first responders. As previously mentioned, Brighter Sight/RTeng.Pro is keenly tracking:  indoor positioning of individuals and assets.  Once we get technology ironed out, such that a firefighter can go into a smoke-filled room & know where they are, the potential would be enormous.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS)  has been working on a Precision Outdoor and Indoor Navigation and Tracking for Emergency Responders (POINTER). DHS claims the system can track first responders within 70 meters with less than 1m error. If that is, in fact, correct, this technology could help first responders keep track of blue force and transmit important/relevant information. This information can be presented via wearable technologies such as google glass.
