A Quebec company by the name of Prehos is working with the Renfew paramedics department to deploy portable electronic health records to paramedics. Having a centralized electronic patient record has huge benefits. The paramedics will save time and have more information amongst the team to collectively decide on patient actions.

The consolidated records of a patient will no doubt help reduce errors and provide the paramedic with the urgent potentially life-saving information they can use to take action. The information is currently provided via mobile platforms.

BrighterSight is keeping an eye on this one and wondering whether this is translatable to wearable platforms ( i.e. google glass) so that the system can provide information to the paramedic while allowing them to do their job hands-free in real-time.
