Google and Uber have been working on self-driving cars for a while now and they might have some competition coming from Amazon. Amazon has recently acquired Aurora, a silicon valley leader in autonomous vehicles.
In terms of how this might impact first responders, imagine a self-driving emergency vehicle/ambulance that can get to the scene fast.
